The Ministry of Health, in collaboration with the Ministries of Science, Economy, and Corfo, has opened a consultation for private actors to express their interest and availability in supplying and producing influenza vaccines in Chile.
A request for Information (RFI) is one of the tools provided by Mercado Público aimed at obtaining information from industry experts regarding the development and characteristics of a specific industry, allowing for better procurement processes.
The objective of this consultation, open in Mercado Público, between March 22 and April 15 of 2024, is to gather relevant information from the industry associated with the supply and production of influenza vaccines. In particular, it inquiries about the interest and necessary conditions to promote national vaccine production.
To the extent that there is interest in the industry and the necessary information is collected in this consultation, the acquisition of influenza vaccines will be sought through a bidding process to supply the public health system for the necessary period to enable local vaccine production. This subsequent tender will consider the possibility for the supplier to import in the short term while local production capacities are established.
